Allow me to divert your attention elsewhere as I wrestle with a recipe that needs more fine-tuning. This fall I again answered the siren call of Stanford Continuing Studies, this time a portraiture photography course taught by Neal Menschel.

What a challenge. The expressions of human subjects change in a millisecond, unlike the fruits and vegetables I’m accustomed to photographing here. But what a delight. Part of the fun was seeing my classmates grow and improve. You can see their handiwork here.
